Volunteers needed for
The Iris Demonstration Garden at the MN Landscape Arboretum is a very popular attraction for visitors during June. We dig approximately 1/3 of the varieties each year to keep the plants from getting overcrowded. Digging & cleaning the iris is dirty work, but everybody has a good time doing it. A portion of the rhizomes is replanted (by the Arboretum’s gardeners) but the excess is sold as our fundraiser. The sale days coincide with Flower Fest Weekend so it will be a busy, fun weekend to spend at the Arboretum! See the Event Calendar for times. Lunch will be provided in the Picnic Shelter for the dig on August 13th. Sales helpers will have to provide their own lunch or visit the Arboretum’s cafeteria o August 20th-21st. Contact Edie Godfrey through membership@irismn.org if you can work the dig and/or the sale. |
